An Evening with Gordon Dale

Prepare yourself for a night of suspense, live music, and improvisation. Gordon Dale will be reading from novel Fool’s Republic and accompanied by upright bassist Eric Marshall for a one-of-a-kind event fueled by a fusion of music and fiction.

Gordon W. Dale has lived in such disparate regions as the Sub-Arctic, the Canadian prairies, and Central-East Africa, and currently lives in California. He has written travel, adventure, and humor articles for various magazines and in 2007 was a finalist for the British Crimewriters Association Debut Dagger Award. Eric Marshall plays upright and electric bass in jazz and improvised music groups. In addition to leading his own groups, Eric performs regularly with Eddie Gale, Valerie Mih, Jim Ryan’s Forward Energy, Geordie Frazer and other Bay Area groups. He has performed with the CMC Orchestra and in the Shotgun Player’s production of the Three Penny Opera. He has scored music for Ray Rea’s film The Sweet New, and composes original works for small jazz and improvised music groups. Eric is a member of the International Society of Bassists.
