Stephanie South, partner and biographer to José Argüelles — who The New York Times memorialized earlier this year as “The Father of the Harmonic Convergence” — sat down with us on this month’s podcast to discuss the late author’s final book, Manifesto for the Noosphere. Widely recognized for first introducing the Mayan 2012 prophecies to the US, Argüelles’ Manifesto outlines what he believes will be the next stage of human evolution — the ascension of the noosphere, or sphere of thought, in 2012.
José Argüelles (January 24, 1939 – March 23, 2011) was an internationally recognized author, artist, educator, and visionary spiritual leader. He taught at Princeton, Evergreen State College, and the University of California, Davis, where he initiated the now-annual Whole Earth Festival in 1974. Arguelles’ The Mayan Factor: Path Beyond Technology is credited with introducing Mayan 2012 prophesies to Western culture.

Hi – I was under the impression Jose Arguello died on March 23 2011 – not March 25.
Hey Dhyanne, you are correct, thanks for bringing the error to our attention! We do have the date correct everywhere else, at least!
